Your wired PC should now discover the Internet connection, and you will have Internet access.
Lastly, click on the Internet Sharing checkbox to enable the service.
Select to share your connection from Wi-Fi, to computers on Ethernet.
In the Sharing manu, choose Internet Sharing from the list on the left.
In System Preferences, under Internet & Wireless, go into the Sharing menu.
It’s typically found on your dock, if not, it’s in your Applications folder. No crossover cable or other networking hardware needed.
Connect an Ethernet cable into the wi-fi connected mac, and the other end into the PC, simple as that.

I'm assuming I would not go into my modem, but would only make changes in the Printer's Driver Menu (under Printers and Scanners somewhere?) and the directly on the P800 screen under_? Can you give me an idea of how to pick the netmask number? (I have quite a few wireless computers in the same room). I think what you're saying is that both my computer and printer need to have that the same ip address 192.168.1.1 and the same netmask. I can get into my modem using 192.168.1.1. You should then be able to ping 192.168.2.2 from your laptop/computer. If you use a network address range at home of say 192.168.1.0/24, then you could enter a static IP address on your P800 via the menu and use 192.168.2.2/24 and then configure the ethernet port on your laptop/computer in the same network, 192.168.2.1/24 for example.Įdit: the /24 format is the same as netmask 255.255.255.0, so both your computer and P800 would require the netmask to be entered as 255.255.255.0, etc. You should be able to hook up directly to the P800 with ethernet and your laptop/computer.
